Benchmark Promotes Renee Dolan to Senior Vice President

Renee DolanNovember 4, 2024 - Benchmark Community Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Renee Dolan to Senior Vice President/Accounting Officer.

"This promotion reflects Renee's hard work, strong financial acumen, strategic team development, and leadership," said President/CEO Neil Burke. "As she has advanced in her roles, Renee has demonstrated her ability to take on any challenge presented. She has tackled high-level, complex accounting duties while cross-training and building a new and stronger accounting team. Most recently, she has assumed supervisory oversight of the Deposit Operations and ACH/Wires functional areas of the Bank."

A Kenbridge-South Hill area resident since 1994, the Detroit, Michigan native joined Benchmark in 2007 as a Payroll/Human Resources (HR) Specialist. Her exceptional performance and growing interest in the financial side spurred her 2009 move from HR to Accounting. In 2015, Dolan was promoted to Accounting Officer before becoming an Assistant Vice President in 2019 and Vice President/Accounting Officer in 2022. She completed her bachelor's degree in accounting in May 2022 and is currently in her second year at the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management.

Dolan shared that teamwork motivates her. "I am one that believes most great things are rarely accomplished by one individual person, instead it takes a collaborative effort," she said. "That said, I am blessed with an amazing team and phenomenal leadership. The connection with my team and the constant support and encouragement I receive motivates me on a daily basis. The trust leadership has placed in me makes me feel valued as an employee, excited to come to work and give back as much as I possibly can. I make a genuine effort to focus on positives rather than negatives, rarely spend time worrying about what happened yesterday, and choose to look forward to what is ahead."

Outside of Benchmark, Dolan is the mother of four children and grandmother to eight ranging in age from six months to 12 years. "Extra time is pretty much all grandbaby time – and that is by design," she said.

Benchmark Community Bank was founded in 1971 as The Lunenburg County Bank. The Bank has 17 branches throughout Southside Virginia and northern North Carolina.
