Consumers have the right to get a free copy of their credit report once a year under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The three national consumer reporting agencies—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—are required to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months.
AnnualCreditReport.com is the only authorized source to get your free credit report under federal law. Beware of any other sites claiming to offer "free" reports. Through AnnualCreditReport.com, you may order your reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion at the same time, or you can order your report from each of the companies one at a time.
